Last Updated on November 15, 2023 by Louisa

Are you a hopeless romantic and spend your days fantasizing about a seriously rich, handsome hero that gets you quaking at the knees?

Well, we can’t all have a seriously rich, seriously hot partner, but we can fantasize by reading some epic billionaire romance novels.

For anyone who is a fan of romantic fiction, billionaire romance books offer a whole new perspective on love, as usually when money can buy you everything, what you want and need from relationships is not always what the common folk like you and me would need.

Intimacy, control, greed, lust, dark romance – these are all themes that these billionaire romance books share with us through the power of words. If this sounds like it’s right up your library, keep reading.

What To Expect from Billionaire Romance Books

Billionaire romance books usually revolve around a wealthy and powerful hero and a subordinate man or woman who may not come from the same social class but captures the billionaire’s heart.

Expect plenty of lavish settings, extravagant lifestyles, and luxuries beyond your wildest dreams!

Billionaire romances feature strong themes of power dynamics, as well as of overcoming obstacles to find true love.

You can expect some passionate moments between the characters, sizzling with intensity and fueled by their wealth and status.

In addition to being filled with swoon-worthy moments, these stories also contain messages of hope about finding one’s place in the world.

At its core, billionaire romance books deliver stories that remind us that love conquers all, no matter how much money you have.

Best Billionaire Romance Books

To kick start my list, here are the most popular billionaire romance books of all time.

From sultry, steamy fiction to truly insightful reads. These are the best billionaire romances to find your next book boyfriend.

1. Fifty Shades of Grey E.L. James

Let’s start with the obvious and get that out of the way, the critically acclaimed, internationally bestselling series by New York Times Bestselling author and winner of the 2012 Book of the Year Award by the UK National Book Awards – it’s the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ series.

And they’re not international bestsellers for no reason.

While it tells a story of a bad boy romance, centered around themes of abuse and control, and how love can be confusing and conflicting – it is best known for its graphic and sultry scenes which are ever more prominent in book one, the first of the series.

If you haven’t read Fifty Shades of Grey yet, then you’ll want to make sure you’re in a quiet, comfortable place with no one around…if you catch my drift.

If you’re a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey, then you might also like these books like After.

2. Blindsided: A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone – Amy Daws

Freya Cook is an almost thirty-year-old virgin, plus-size female working as a seamstress who is used to being invisible to the opposite sex.

When her Scottish footballer and a best friend offers to become her love coach after an innocent game of Never Have I Ever reveals Freya’s dire situation with men, Freya and Mac start to see each as possibly something beyond friendship.

This best friend to lovers romance novel is all about banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and passion.

What I loved about this book was how the sassy Freya kept Mac on his toes, and the connection between the two of them felt genuine and easy.

It’s not all about smut, or even the fact that he’s rich, but about a real connection and the development of chemistry.

3. The Marriage Bargain – Jennifer Probst

To save her family home, Alexa Maria McKenzie casts a love spell. However, instead of prince charming, she conjures up the her best friend’s older brother who once broke her heart.

Billionaire Nicholas Ryan is looking for a wife in order to inherit his father’s corporation. Though he doesn’t believe in marriage, he needs one fast. When he discovers his sister’s childhood friend Alexa’s dire financial straits, he offers a bold proposition.

A marriage in name only. No entanglement. Keep things like a business deal. And whatever you do: Do NOT fall in love. These rules shouldn’t be too hard to follow…or are they?

If you love fake relationships or marriage-of-convenience tropes, then The Marriage Bargain offers a story that is not new to this genre, but it has been done very well.

Jennifer Probst has done a really great job at creating a relationship that appears authentic and true, and one that builds gradually despite the obvious sexual tension between them.

It’s fun, flirty, and charming. This is also one of my favorite age gap romance novels.

4. The Senator’s Daughter – Amaka Azie

If you’re looking for a classic “West Side Story” type novel, then allow me to introduce you to The Senator’s Daughter by Amaka Azie.

Rita is the only daughter of billionaire, Senator Obaseki, who hides her reputation as a wealthy heiress to cover up a painful past.

Former soldier, Nosa Edosa, believes her father is the epitome of political corruption. Failing to bring him to justice, his effort to bring him to his knees involves kidnapping his daughter.

The plan was simple and executed effortlessly. All is going well until love comes into play. Rita and Nosa discover neither are what they appear in this quest to right her family’s wrongs.

This billionaire romance novel combines the thrills of Nigerian politics, passion, and suspense in this epic love story. It’s not only about romance but family dramas and heightened tension between rivals.

If you want a billionaire romance book that’s more gripping than soppy and romantic, then The Senator’s Daughter is a good option.

5. A Not So Meet Cute – Meghan Quinn

Meghan Quinn is a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author, and A Not So Meet Cute is one of my favorite pieces of hers.

It’s a romantic comedy about a desperate billionaire looking to find a fiancée – not a storyline that’s new, but it’s beautifully done.

This novel is often described as a “modern-day Pretty Woman”, this hilarious billionaire romance novel with witty banter that is going to have you howling throughout.

It starts when Lottie, a good girl, just gets fired. So her plan to make money is to stroll around a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills to search for an eligible billionaire husband.

And because this is fiction – it worked!

She bumps into Huxley, a man she takes an instant dislike to…but agrees to marry him anyway. What?

If you’re looking for an uplifting grumpy sunshine romance book with funny, laugh out loud scenes, then be sure to add this to your reading list.

6. The Summer Proposal – Vi Keeland

After a blind date goes wrong, Georgia ends up meeting a dashing hockey player on the New York hockey team. That’s where she meets a cute billionaire with dimples, called Max.

The pair hit it off, and plan to spend the summer together so Georgia can get over an ex, but they exchange sizzling hot chemistry and it turns out Max is just as amazing as he first seemed.

But the thing is, it was a deal that was only meant to last for one summer. Can they really only last one season?

This steaming hot angst romance novel by Vi Keeland is packed with pages full of fire and passion. It’s a page-turner alright, and as it’s a steamy standalone novel, there’s no cliffhanger to spoil it.

7. Beauty and the Billionaire: A Dirty Fairy Tale – Lauren Landish

Thomas Goldstone is a man who closes billion-dollar deals – he’s scary, ambitious, arrogant, and wears custom-tailored suits…drool!

But beneath the controlling façade, he has a kind heart, which makes any woman want to fall to his knees.

But Mia is a pink-haired, anime-loving geek with a basement office in Goldstone HQ, who seemingly has no chance with the big boss.

This modern-day take on the best-known fairytale Beauty and the Beast begs the question – do fairy tales really come true?

Although this isn’t a story that’s new, after all, it is based on a fairy tale, it has enough of a difference from the fairy tale classic we know to make it refreshing and enjoyable.

What I love about this book is the character progression. We learn that Thomas is not just a man with an attitude, but has deep underlying issues that make him the way he it.

Everyone loves a man they can fix, right?

8. At First Sight – M.S. Parker

After losing the love of his life in a car accident, Drake focuses his attention on his career, working his way up to secure a position next in line for a billion-dollar company.

One day while dining at the restaurant he spent with his late ex, Belle, he sees a woman, the spitting image of Belle, just three tables away.

Maggie has landed her dream job as a violinist in the New York Philharmonic, but her controlling and abusive boyfriend controls her life.

After a violent argument on a sidewalk is witnessed by Drake, Maggie finds herself living with a new man while she tries to sort her life out.

However, Drake is falling head over heels for Maggie, but how can he explain he actually stalked her for weeks to find out who she was, just because she reminded him of his late wife?

This is a refreshingly unique story about loss and giving love a second chance. It touches on the subject of grief in a sympathetic way.

I love the passion and the romance elements, but more so, I love how the characters come to terms with their struggles and overcome them.

Steamy and Intense Billionaire Romance Novels

If you’re looking for a billionaire hero or heroine to get you feeling a little hot under the collar, these are the best billionaire novels for you.

9. Love and Money – Esther Banks

Not all billionaire romance novels have a male lead. This incredible story told by Esther Banks has a strong, female billionaire lead with an inspiring tale.

After bumping into Tamara Leads, heiress to her family’s fortune, while she celebrated her birthday, Jason was ready to forgive his best mate for dragging him to a club one wild night.

But Jason did not know of her fortune, and things started to get complicated.

This billionaire BWWM romance novel is full of interracial billionaire romances with intense thriller and suspense moments.

While most billionaire romance novels usually have a character chasing the billionaire for money, this isn’t like that.

What I love about this book is it’s less about the money and more about the relationship. Yes, Tamara has money, but she’s down-to-earth and relatable.

This book is only suitable for those over 18 due to its elicit scenes.

10. Mating Theory: A Trust Fund Standalone Novel (The Trust Fund Duet Series) – Skye Warren

After billionaire Sutton Mayfair finds the young woman he loves is marrying his best friend, he turns to pick up women off the street with the intention of using them for one sole purpose.

What he didn’t intend to find was that even the pretty woman standing on the street corner could capture his heart, and after night after night of passion, feelings start to appear.

Sutton finds that he did have someone left to lose after all.

The Mating Theory has everything you would want from a romance trope covered.

A damaged alpha male MC? Check!

Some LGBTQ elements? Check Check!

A strong, independent woman who can put any man in their place? Check, Check and Check!

11. A Billionaire Affair – Niobia Bryant

Alessandra Dalmount has been trained from a young age to take over her father’s empire. Now that day has arrived, she is forced to work closely with co-CEO and her former childhood nemesis, Alek Ansah.

As they battle for control of the billion-dollar company, Alessandra must also fight her attraction to the man who could sabotage her career.

Then a shocking revelation breaks their trust…and a huge scandal could mean only one man, or woman is left standing. Can they turn their rivalry into a blueprint for success?

The chemistry between Alek and Alessandra is steamy throughout this novel. If you love enemies-to-lovers and CEO romance books with relatable characters and a plotline that makes you forget about the world around you – then this is your next read.

12. TEMP – Jessa Kane

Kaylee Hale is a spy, tasked with infiltrating the office of her father’s arch nemesis, Matthew Borden, in an effort to dig up proof of illegal real estate schemes.

However, unknown to Kaylee, Matthew knows of her position and has a plan of his own – to seduce Kaylee and break her heart.

One moment with her, however, and Matthew’s plans take a detour. Neither one of them expected to bond in a heartbeat.

They become connected on a deeper level, and now they must ask the question – will their intentions to each other remain pure?

This is a novel that fringes on the line of dark romance – not quite enough to be labeled this, but never quite crossing the line.

In my opinion, it hits that sweet spot where it’s just enough to be exciting but not enough to be offputting.

The storyline is the classic corporate espionage meeting the emotional need of the MC.

**Disclaimer: This book has scenes of attempted suicide**

13. The CEO Buys In – Nancy Herkness

Self-made billionaire Nathan Trainor is struggling to find a woman who sees him for more than his wealth.

After meeting two other billionaire bachelors at an ultra-exclusive club, the three of them make a wager: they must find women who love them for them and not their money.

But then the ailing billionaire Nathan falls ill, and he and Chloe must work from his penthouse while he recuperates. It’s clear there’s a genuine attraction between them, and it’s more than just a fever spike.

But will Nathan win the bet? Is Chloe’s heart pure?

If you’re looking for a refreshing billionaire office romance book with a storyline that’s somewhat different from the others, this one certainly fits the bill. The caring nature of Chloe and the tough guy act of Nathan makes them unforgettable characters.

14. Lush Money – Angelina M. Lopez

As a Latinx woman, Roxanne Medina is a strong, independent woman who has conquered small-town bullies and Ivy League snobs.

She intimidates boardrooms full of men and she’s earned the right to feel a little less lonely at the top.

When she meets Principe Mateo Ferdinand Juan Carlos de Esperanza y Santos, one of the top winegrowers in the region, she makes an offer that is more than generous – three nights a month, and a divorce at the end of the year.

But is it really that easy to follow a simple plan?

If you’re after a sultry book with a strong female lead, then Lush Money is a great option.

15. Someday Someday – Emma Scott

Someday Someday is one of my favorite LGBTQ fiction romance books right now as it’s filled with passion, fire, and emotion.

Max Kaufman was kicked out of his home as a teenager, where he fell into addiction and homelessness, to eventually recover and put himself through nursing school. It took him ten years to rebuild his shattered self.

Now he’s the private caretaker to Edward Marsh III, the president, and CEO of the biggest pharmaceutical company in the world. Max soon learns Marsh’s multi-billion-dollar empire is a web of dark secrets and lies.

Along with this, his heart is also falling for the beautiful son of Marsh, Silas Marsh.

But if Silas wants to take over the company, he must prove himself worthy and deny his feelings towards Max.

Silas must choose between standing up to his father and sharing his feelings towards Max, or continuing to pretend and inherit everything.

16. Been There Done That – Hope Ellis

Zora Leffersbee’s tenure at the University is in question and her funding is uncertain.

On top of this, her faux-fiancé, Jackson James, is getting on her last nerve. Just when things couldn’t get more complicated, it does.

Intent on righting the wrongs of the past, Nick wants to protect Zora, even if she’s not interested in his devotion. Or is she?

This is a sweet and enjoyable second-chance romance novel. I love how the characters miscommunicate and misunderstand one another but always try their best to overcome their obsticles.

17. Empire of Sin: An Enemies to Lovers Romance – Rina Kent

After a night out before starting a new job, Ana engages in a sinful night of passion with a stranger. Of course, she leaves in the morning because it was just a one-night stand, right?

What she didn’t expect was that the stranger she met was in fact her new boss. Awkward.

Knox Van Doren has a charming facade, but inside he is a true villain, who will use Ana’s sin against her to have her do anything he wants…

This is a captivating, bodyguard romance book about a man who wants to protect a woman at all costs. Their relationship is not remotely perfect and that’s what makes it so relatable. This a book you won’t be able to put down.

19. Dirty Billionaire Trilogy – Meghan March

At least, until he meets Holly Wix, who disappears after an explosive one-night stand.

He embarks on a quest to find her, and when he does, his plan is to make her the next Mrs. Creighton Karas. But is she ready for that?

I love how Meghan March writes about explosive chemistry between characters, and creates the perfect alpha male book boyfriend for any romance reader.

However, she does write a lot of cliff hangers, so be prepared to be sucked into a new series!

20. Bared To You – Sylvia Day

Gideon Cross is beautiful, brilliant, and hot. Gideon has his demons, and Eva cannot resist him.

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, you’ll enjoy Bared to You. It follows a possessive, stalkerish man who wants to be dominant, and Eva, an immature and compliant subordinate.

This is a tale of sultry, firey hot scenes and a story of a love that is as powerful as it is destructive.

Series of Billionaire Romance Books

Is one book not enough? Here are some good billionaire romance series for you to get lost in.

Bailey is trying to build her career in interior design, and if her boss finds out that Lucas is into her, she’ll lose everything.

Soon their attraction becomes too hot to handle…and all walls start to come crashing down.

Although this is an interracial romance book, race isn’t the focus of the story. The story focuses on how characters can be misunderstood.

Lucas is often disliked in the office but is cared for by his family. It’s the classic “never judge a book by its cover” story.

25. The Stopover (The Miles High Club, Book 1) – T L Swan

After Emily Foster was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York, she meets billionaire trope Jamison Miles, and they instantly click.

Damien Stark is a billionaire entrepreneur who could have any woman.

He’s steamy, confident, and commanding. Nikki is an attractive, former pageant girl from Texas who used to self-harm and has low self-esteem.

For Greyson, it’s love at first sight, but for Milana, she’s looking for a marriage of convenience.

But this nerdy billionaire, he’s banking on his skills in architecture to make his convenient wife fall in love with him.

This is a billionaire romance novel with a marriage of convenience that is a little bit like Beauty and the Beast but more smutty – and with a geek instead of a beast! The storyline doesn’t falter and keeps you engaged. It’s a real page-turner and you won’t be able to put down!

With steamy scenes and sensual pleasures, this is one book to read after the kids have gone to bed. Readers should note there are some explicit content and profanity, and some scenes of mild violence.

This is the ideal book to read if you love billionaire bad boys and stories about intense attraction, as well as forced proximity.

34. Praise (Salacious Players Club Series) – Sara Cate

Praise by Sara Cate is a steamy contemporary romance that follows the complex relationship between Emerson, a hot billionaire and owner of the Salacious Players Club, and Charlotte, his son’s ex-girlfriend and now his secretary.

Charlotte has lost all her self-esteem after her ex made her feel not good enough, but Emerson makes her feel like she’s more than enough. She feels like the only person in the world when she’s with him.

Praise explores themes of BDSM, age-gap romance, and forbidden love. While the spice level was off the charts, and I really enjoyed the creative and sensual scenes, there are some areas of co-dependency that may not resonate with every reader.

I enjoyed how Emerson nurtured Charlotte’s low self-esteem and made her feel wanted, which after all is what every woman wants in a man.

Praise has well-written prose, memorable moments, and an educational approach to exploring age gap kinks. If you’re in the mood for a quick, easy, and sexy read, Praise offers an enticing escape into a world of desire and passion.

35. Terms and Conditions (Dreamland Billionaire) – Lauren Asher

If you’re a fan of Lauren Asher, then you absolutely need to add Terms and Conditions to your reading list. This is the second book in the Dreamland Billionaire series and was nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award for Best Romance in 2022.

Terms and Conditions is a captivating contemporary romance novel that delves into the forbidden love between Declan and Iris.

Declin is destined to take over his family’s media empire, only his grandfather’s inheritance clause is standing in the way. His last wish was for him to get married.

The solution was Iris, his assistant. The terms were simple; they marry on paper only and simply don’t fall in love.

But for anyone who’s a fan of fake relationship romances, we all know that’s easier said than done!

This book explores themes such as age-gap relationships, marriage of convenience, and the complexities of boss-employee dynamics.

I loved the sizzling chemistry between the characters and the palpable tension that builds throughout the story.

The emotional depth and authenticity of Declan and Iris’s connection were highlighted as the driving force behind the compelling narrative. If you enjoy steamy romances filled with passion, personal growth, and intense desire, Terms and Conditions is a must-read.
